Eligibility:
For M.Phil. & M.S.
(with Course Work “Terminating degree”):
At least Sixteen Years of Studies (MA., MLIS, M.Sc., M.BA.Ø B. B.A.(4-year), M .A.S., M.Com., B.S.(4-year), B-Pharm, Pharrn-D.,M.B.B.S., B.D.S., D.V.M., B.S./B.E, Engineering) or equivalent qualification with at least second division in the relevant field from an FIEC recognized university/institution. However, candidates with M.B.B.S., B.D.S., D.V.M. or equivalent qualification will be required to successfully complete 15-Credit Hour Courses (300-600 Level) before undertaking M.Phil. Courses (700 Level).
For M.S. (Surgery) & M.D. (Medicine):
M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. or equivalent qualification from a recognized University in addition to a one-year house job with valid PMDC Registration.
For Ph.D.:
Degree holders of M.S. (Surgery) and M.D. (Medicine) are eligible for the admissions in Ph.D. for the subject to the fulfillment of the completion of deficiency courses prescribed by DRC of the concerned department. MPharm., M.Phil., M.B.A. (with four year 13.B.A.) LL.M. (applicable only for Faculty of Law) or its equivalent qualification in the relevant field from an HEC recognized university. Admission will be granted on the basis of test and interview to be conducted by the respective Departmental Research Committee In accordance with the instructions given in the Admission Prospectus-2019.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
I. The following steps should be observed to apply for Postgraduate admissions – 2019:
• The Admission Prospectus 2019, Entrance Test Form (ETF) and lee Voucher can be downloaded from the Karachi University Website (www.uok.edu.pk) from June 10 to June 18, 2019.
• Candidates are required to read the Prospectus carefully, fill Entrance Test Form and Fee Voucher. Pay the processing fee of Rs.4S00/- (non-ref unable) in the banks (situated in the University of Karachi) through Fee Voucher.
• Candidates are required to submit Entrance Test Form (duly filled) along with paid Fee Voucher in the respective departments latest by June 18, 2019.
• Candidates for Ph.D. (Law) are required to submit Entrance Test
Form (duly filled) along with paid Fee Voucher of processing fee of
Rs.10,000/- (non-refundable) in the School of Law, University of
Karachi, latest by June 18, 2019.
• Candidates for MS/MD are required to submit the Entrance Test Form
(duly filled) along with paid Fee Voucher of processing fee of
Rs.10,000/- (non-refundable) in the Advanced Studies & Research
Board (ASRB), University of Karachi, latest by June 18, 2019.
Il. The Karachi University Entrance Test 2019 is mandatory for all the candidates. List of eligible candidates for appearing in Karachi University Entrance Test will be displayed on the website on July 02, 2019.
Ill. Candidates eligible for Karachi University Entrance Test will be required to collect Admit Cards from July 03 to July 12, 2019, from the respective Departments/Centers/Institutes.
IV. The Karachi University Entrance Test will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. Candidates are required to report at 9:30 a.m. at the
respective Departments/Centres/Institutes with Admit Card and Original CNIC. For further information/details, visit KU website (www.uok.edu.pk)
V. List of successful candidates will be announced on the University of Karachi website on July 31, 2019.
