CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
The Central Power Purchasing Agency, Guarantee Ltd. (CPPAG) is nonprofit independent company established under the Companies Ordinance, 1984 as a “Company Limited Guarantee” with mandate to manage the existing and future power generation pool and its distribution to the electricity distribution companies through transmission system maintained by the National Transmission & Dispatch Company Limited (NTDC). CPPA-G solely responsible for implementing and administering the “Single Buyer Plus” market mechanism (ultimately leading to competitive market operations). CPPA-G carries out Electric Power procurement and its sale to DISCOs & bulk consumers in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework by performing and undertaking functions and discharging the responsibilities laid down for the Company in the Market Rules/Guidelines. Government of Pakistan/Ministry of Energy (Power Division) is looking for services of a high caliber professional to lead the CPPA-G as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
JOB PROFILE
The CEO must have strong capability to lead, organize, operate and set priorities for the entire organization. The CEO will be responsible for overall management of Company operations and for setting management guidelines, policy transfer and efficient day-to-day management; guaranteeing effective coordination with concerned Ministries I Divisions and DISCOs, GENCOs, NTDC, NEPRA etc; ensuring legality of all acts executed by enterprises; supervision of concepts and methodologies. The CEO shall report to Board of Directors of CPPA-G and the Secretary, Ministry of Energy (Power Division).
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE & AGE:
The candidate must have a minimum qualification of Chartered or Cost and Management Accountant (FCA/FCMA) or engineering with MBA (Specialization in Finance) or Masters in Economics or Finance or a higher degree in such disciplines from reputable National or International institute recognized by HEC.
The candidate should possess a minimum of 1 5 years of experience in senior management position in large public I private sector organization. Preference will be given to candidates having (a) Experience of working in a Public Sector Organization in the Power Sector of Pakistan, (b) Good knowledge of market structures, market models, mechanisms to manage settlement and billing between market participants, (C) Demonstrated capability and experience of candidate to improve back and front office business processes through automation and (d) Experience and good understanding of legal, policy and regulatory framework of Power Sector of Pakistan.
He I she should possess strong decision making I leadership skills and competence to steer the organization towards achieving its vision and mission. Ideal candidate should also possess exposure to working with international donors or financial institutions. The age of the candidate should not be more than 57 years.
SALARY PACKAGE:
The position will have a market based remuneration I salary package along with fringe benefits as per company policy commensurate with the experience and qualification of the candidate. Appointment will be made under the relevant provisions of Companies Act, 2017.
