Background:
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) is a government institution responsible to set agenda for reforms, roadmap, and targets for bringing qualitative and quantitative improvement in higher education sector in the country. China- Pakistan Economic Corridor, often referred CPEC, is a collection of projects currently under construction to cost of $46 billion, intended to rapidly expand and upgrade Pakistani infrastructure as well as deepen and broaden economic links between Pakistan and the Peoples Republic of China. The corridor is considered to be an extension of China’s ambitious One Belt, One Road initiative.
Higher education institutions can play a major role in reaping real benefits of CPEC by bridging a gap in language and cultural sector of both the countries. The enhancement of geographical linkages having improved road, rail and air transportation system with frequent and free exchanges of growth and people to people contact, enhancing understanding through academic, cultural and regional knowledge. activity of higher volume of flow of trade and businesses, producing and moving energy to have more optimal businesses and enhancement of cooperation by win- win model will result in well connected, integrated region of shared destiny, harmony and development. HEC aims to strengthen the role of higher education sector in CPEC, especially in the area of scientific research and higher education.and academic

Terms of Reference
Qualification & Experience
Expand CPEC Consortium of China-Pakistan universities to include General, Engineering, Agriculture, Medical and Business/Management Universities.
2. Make efforts to achieve the objectives and tasks defined in the Articles of CPEC Consortium, in particular:
a. Cooperation, coordination
exchange among members.
Bachelor’s/Masters Degree with 15 years of relevant post qualification experience.
S Applicants are required to download application form from HEC website
and send hard copy of the application form along with the photograph and photocopies of required documents (viz. educational and experience certificates, etc.).
S Selected candidate can be posted anywhere in Pakistan.

3. Develop joint research centers and laboratories, linking Chinese and Pakistani universities.
4. Explore funded scholarships and short training visits of Pakistani faculty and students in Chinese universities.
5. Promote mobility of faculty. students and staff among Pakistani and Chinese universities.
6 Facilitate faculty development in areas of critical deficiencies.
7. Propose MS and PhD programmers to be introduced in Pakistani universities with the help of top Chinese universities.
