COMBINED ENTRY TEST 2019 FOR ADMISSION IN ENGINEERING INSTITUTIONS OF PUNJAB FOR (1) B.Sc. ENGINEERING PROGRAMS (2) B.Sc. ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMS

WHO MAY APPEAR IN THE ENTRY TEST?  There is no restriction on appearing in the Entry Test. However, appearance in the Entry Test does not confer the right to apply for admission in the Engineering and Engineering Technology institutions of Punjab. b. It is informed that as per Pakistan Engineering Council regulations, candidates having the following qualification are only eligible to apply into various undergraduate engineering programs. · Intermediate Pre-Engineering or equivalent foreign qualification; Or · Intermediate with Physics and Mathematics with CS or Statistics as the third subject or equivalent foreign qualification; Or · B.Sc. (such that F.Sc is in Pre-Engineering with first division); Or · Intermediate Pre-Medical or equivalent foreign qualification; Or · DAE, B.Tech. (Pass), or any Equivalent Examination. AVAILABILITY OF ENTRY TEST TOKENS

Entry Test tokens will be available from the designated HBL branches on payment of Rs 700/- from 10 the June 2019 to 2 nd July 2019. Detailed instructions about logging into the UET admission portal using the token number are given on the token. 4. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION AND RECEIPT OF ADMIT CARD Applications will only be received online and candidates are not required to visit any test center. The admit card will also be printed online by the candidate from a web portal. Following steps are to be followed for receipt of Admit Card. a. Fill the Entry Test application online by logging into the web link http://admission.uet.edu.pk with the help of the token serial number and token number. After filling the necessary information, you will be asked to upload your recent passport size colored photograph with a light background (Picture format JPEG or GIF, Max File up to 1.0 MB) and choose a test center. Your admit card would be generated immediately. b. Kindly ensure that a proper photograph with a light background is uploaded. This photograph will become a future reference as part of the official record. The applicant cannot change the photograph after the printing of the Admit Card. c. Last date for data entry and generation of ADMIT CARD on-line is 3 rd July 2019. Reprint of Admit Cards is permitted until the day of the test. 5. CHOICE OF TEST CENTER  Applicants may select any Test Center from the list given above; however, for their own convenience, they are advised to choose a Test Center nearest to their residence /district of domicile. b. Applicants are further advised to apply at their earliest. Since seating capacity is limited in each Center, they will have to choose an alternate Test Center in case all seats in a Center of their choice have been filled. 6. SUPPORT TO FILL ENTRY TEST APPLICATIONS If required, the applicants may use computer and printer facility in the designated computer laboratories at the above centers from 10 the June 2019 to 2 and July 2019 between 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM with a break for prayer, from Monday to Friday. 7. IMPORTANT NOTES a. The LAST DATE for purchase of tokens from designated branches is Tuesday 02-07-2019. Whereas the LAST DATE for receipt of Admit Cards is 3 rd July 2019. b. Result of Combined Entry Test will be declared, Insha ALLAH, on 21-07-2019 (Midnight) and will be available at web portal http://admission.uet.edu.pk. However, the key for self-marking shall be uploaded on the website at midnight on the test date.

ENTRY TEST GUIDELINES.

UET ECAT Entry Test July 2019 Combine Entry test 2019 for Admission in Engineering Institute of Punjab Guidelines for the preparation of Entry Test are available at web link http://admission.uet.edu.pk b. The area of skills to be tested shall include: (i) Physics-30%; (ii) Mathematics-30%; (iii) English-10% & (iv) Optional Subject-30%; c. Candidates with Pre-medical background will be examined in Physics-30%, English-10%, Chemistry-30%, and Biology-30%. d. The Test would be of Intermediate level and will be offered in the following combinations: (a) Physics, Mathematics, English & Chemistry; (b) Physics, Mathematics, English & Computer Science; (c) Physics, Mathematics, English & Statistics and (d) Physics, Chemistry, English and Biology. e. Applicants shall choose the relevant combination while filling the application form. DAE/ B.Tech. applicants may choose Chemistry or Computer Science as an optional subject. 9. REQUIREMENT OF PHOTO-ID AT THE TEST CENTER DURING ENTRY TEST Applicants is reminded to arrange for photo-ID like · Computerized National Identity card (CNIC)/ NICOP. · For candidates aged less than 18 years, Juvenile Card issued by NADRA; Or An official photo identification like Matric/ Intermediate certificate carrying photograph; Or Computerized domicile certificate bearing a photograph Or A Passport; Or Statement of Entry in case of “A” Level students etc. for presentation in the Entry Test Centers during the Entry Test. Failure to present a photo-id may result in expulsion from the Test Center.

ENTRY TEST 2019 GUIDELINES FOR PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES

The Entry Test will be of four combinations: 1. English, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry 2. English, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science 3. English, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics 4. English, Physics, Biology, Chemistry b) The details of each subject are given as under 1. English: 10 questions. It will be a comprehension type. A paragraph would be given and candidates would be required to answer TEN multiple choice questions related to the paragraph. 2. Physics: 30 questions. All questions would be on topics covered in F.Sc/ “A” Level/ DAE. Questions would require the candidate to solve problems by using the skills and concepts learned during the intermediate level studies. For example, candidates would certainly be asked questions on Mechanics, Electricity & Magnetism, Work and Energy, etc. 3. Mathematics: 30 questions. All questions would be on topics covered in F.Sc/ “A” Level/ DAE. Questions would require the candidate to solve problems by using the skills and concepts learned during the intermediate level studies. For example, candidates would certainly be asked questions requiring knowledge of Differentiation, Integration, Linear Algebra, Trigonometry, etc. 4. Chemistry/ Computer Science/ Statistics: 30 questions. All questions would be on topics covered in F.Sc/ “A” Level/ DAE. Questions would require the candidate to solve problems by using the skills and concepts learned during the intermediate level studies. 5. Biology (in lieu of Mathematics for Pre-medical candidates): 30 questions. All questions would be on topics covered in F.Sc/ “A” Level/ DAE. Questions would require the candidate to solve problems by using the skills and concepts learned during the intermediate level studies. c) Marking of Entry Test Answer Sheet: Correct Answer: 4 marks, Wrong Answer: -1 mark. No answer: 0 marks. This means that if a candidate has 40 correct answers, 40 wrong answers and 20 blanks (no answers), he/she would earn the following marks: 40 x 4 + 40 x (-1) + 20 x (0) = 160 – 40 + 0= 120 marks out of maximum 400. d) The question paper will have FOUR versions. All versions will have the same questions, but the subjects, questions and answer choices would all be randomly placed. One version may have English as the first subject (that is, question numbers 1 to 10) and Mathematics as the second (that is, question numbers 11 to 40). The other version may have Physics as the first subject (that is, question numbers 1 to 30) and so on. Each version would have a separate answer sheet and candidates shall mark the answer sheet provided with their version. e) The answer sheet will have a carbon copy sheet. In most of the cases, the carbon copy sheet becomes detached from the answer sheet. DO NOT staple it with the answer sheet. You may fill the carbon copy by hand separately for your record after finishing your test. f) Candidates are advised NOT to carry the following items with them: (i) Mobile Phone; (ii) Calculator; (iii) any helping material; (iv) Handbags; (v) Staplers. (a) Candidates MUST carry the following items ONLY: (i) Photo identification like CNIC, Matriculation or the first-year certificate having a photograph, passport or a domicile certificate, (ii) Computerized “B” form; (iii) Admit Card; (iv) Clean ClipBoard. g) Entry test is a pre-requisite for applying to UET Lahore or its affiliated colleges. Other public-sector institutions like Punjab University, UET Taxila, BZU Multan, Islamia University Bahawalpur, Khawaja Fareed UNIT RYK, Punjab Tianjin University of Technology (PTUT) and some private institutions also require Combined Entry Test conducted by UET Lahore as a pre-requisite. h) This Entry Test is valid for admission cycle 2019 only.
